Fruit Dehydrator Plant in Villa El Porvenir, Caranavi

Fruit

The availability of organic bananas and papaya makes the Alto Beni, Caranavi province, an ideal location for the production of dried fruit. The construction of a small plant for the commercial production of dried fruit in Colonia Villa Porvenir by the YCADF with the active collaboration of the inhabitants, provided all the infrastructure, equipment and initial supplies needed for a successful agribusiness. Fruit is dried using gas-powered ovens designed specifically for the plant. A groundwater well with submersible pump was drilled to provide potable water the washing of the fruit.

The project also had technical assistance in institutional strengthening that contributed to the sustainability and success of the plant. This support included legal assistance, finance and administration management and comercialization.
