Worldwide Cooperative Development Program (wwCDP)
Bolivian Delegation attends a Conference in Bogota
In addition to the current project ICDF, ACDI/VOCA also implements in Bolivia a component of the Worldwide Cooperative Development Program (wwCDP) financed by USAID-Washington. The component called Change Strategies attempts to share the experiences of the most successful Latin America cooperatives. ACDI/VOCA has sponsored the participation of four cooperatives in the regional conference performed in Bogota in July of 2006, Modernization of the Business Culture in the Cooperatives Seminar. This activity was organized by ACDI/VOCA-Colombia and took place in the grounds of Federación de Cafetaleros de Colombia (Colombian Coffee Growers Federation).
The participants in the seminar include representatives of "El Ceibo" Cooperative, Integral Cooperative of Services "CISPUNATHA", the National Federation of Rice Cooperatives (FENCA) and "El Campesino" Cooperative all accompanied by Glenn Blumhorst and Cristobal Aguilar from ACDI/VOCA Bolivia. All of them attended the seminar along with representatives of cooperatives from Colombia, Paraguay and Brazil where ACDI/VOCA implements the CDP. Members of ACDI/VOCA headquarters including the Regional Vice president of ACDI/VOCA, Mr. Charles Cox also participated.
